In 2019, we were approached by the renowned interior architect P. Joseph from London with the question whether we could supply handmade Italian terracotta tiles specific to colour, size and finish, for several rooms in the characteristic building. This question related to a prestigious project for Matches Fashion, an internationally well-known retailer for a.o. Prada and Gucci, in the heart of London; the renovation of a Grade-II listed Queen Anne-style building in Mayfair.
As the specialist of handmade Italian terracotta tiles in Northern and Western Europe, we started to work with this question and were able to supply various samples which initially met the specific wishes of the architect.
Since the architect / customer set high standards for the choice of colour and finish of the hand-crafted terracotta tile, we monitored the process at the production location in Italy during the production period. We did this by exchanging film and photo material during the creative process.
The architect / customer was able to respond immediately on the basis of this, which led to a wonderful result, including 4 different terracotta tiles with 4 different colours with a customer-specific size and finish.
For privacy reasons, we cannot release images of the areas in the building.
We have visualized the products used for the project.
Urquhart & Hunt Landscape Consultancy, also commissioned us to supply handmade Italian terracotta tiles for the Carlos Place garden terrace. Naturally, these tiles also had to meet the specific wishes and requirements of the customer, including the correct colour scheme, dimensions, finish (anti-slip) and frost resistancy.
